climate smart san josÉ
You know when you’ve touched something, and felt that, yes, this is going to make a difference? It lights you up from the inside out because your work is going to mean something? That’s how I felt with this project.
The City of San José set out to create a sustainability paper that would change the climate action conversation for not only the city, but for the entire country. The report re-imagines urban living to focus on environmental responsibility, connectivity, and purpose. The goal: to present sustainable living initiatives to the United Nations and demonstrate alignment with the Paris Agreement.
An internal PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) team working with the City of San José reached out looking for creative assistance. The content, originally written by multiple authors and thrown together into a sprawling document, needed a lot of work. As Lead Copywriter, I rolled up my sleeves and dove in – bit by bit creating a cohesive, passionate voice that would reach the everyday reader and convince them to listen.
I worked closely with the Lead Designer and rest of my creative team to fold the strategists’ work into a beautiful report which pulled its aesthetic from the idea of a sunrise – a new beginning for the City of San José.
